INTERPOL came through Chicago last night and played to the lucky few who were able to get the limited tickets available. Why they played at a venue the size of Metro for one night I can’t even fathom. Anyway, they were great. They kicked it off with a song from the new album "Pioneer to the Falls" and I was very impressed with the dynamics of the song even if I couldn't hear the lyrics over the wailing guitar. If this song is indicative of this new album, it will be another great album. I do think the other, well known by now song, Heinrich Maneuver is pretty poppy. I was glad to hear another song that didn’t sound like they sold out. If you go to an Interpol concert, don’t expect much of a stage show because there’s not much happening there. The music was tight and powerful thanks to Metros’ great sound system and that is what made seeing them live worthwhile. Their next stop is Toronto, Canada if you feel compelled to see them up North, otherwise, They will be back here in July for Lollapalooza.
